HERO, The Movie
One of memorable dorama that I still remember is HERO, the story is about Kohei Kuryu a prosecutor who like to wear casual t-shirt and jeans while working, which is very uncommon among workers in Japan, as you know that wearing nice suits to work is part of their culture too. His another unusual habit is buying lot of junks from shopping tv. Dispite his casual looks he's very clever, strong willed and hard working, of course he will do anything for justice.
This movie also bring all of original casts from its dorama series, and I think all viewers want to know too how is the conclusion of love-hate relationship between Amamiya and Kuryu which still left in void at the end of its dorama series. Some story also seems to coming from the SP episode too, aired in 2006. Sadly I missed the SP episode, so I didn't quite understand some character background. Thankfully there's new seed for SP episode in d-addicts in HD resolution too! can't wait to watch it :-)
If you interested you could do shopping for its merchandise too, likely japan adress is required. The official store sell almost any stuffs you see in the movie, isn't cool.

Motto Koi Seyo Otome
Here is the sequel of Koi Seyo Otome, the story continues where the first series left off. One year has passed since the first series, and life around Amano family is a rather bit dull since Sachiko still has no boyfriend. At least her wish to become great inventor in snack food a little bit fulfilled after her debut has made such a hit in convenience store around Japan. In this series the research center a little bit more well established seems that they already made good fortune from selling the product.
Sachiko still waiting for the right guy, just when she met her old friend from elementary school who she never met again after he transfered to Yokohama on 6th grade. Yes the finding for happiness is yet to begin again.
The story style still similar to first series and all cast are there too. As for quality this seed has finer quality. If you enjoy the first series, this is a must to watch!

Koi Seyo Otome
Sachiko (幸子 first kanji means happiness) is energic girl who like to eat delicious foods. In the morning she helps her father who runs rice shop make onigiri, food made of rice shaped like a ball which quite famous around neighborhood. Although deep in their heart they love each other, everyday they always have big fight right every morning. After helping her father she went to work by bicycle, at work she is part of a small team who research new kind of snack food, her dream is to make the number one hit snack in Japan, someday.
But she felt something is missing from her life. Despite her age, she still a single girl. Her dream is to meet the perfect guy just for her, hmm that reminds me of classic Cinderella syndrome. She doesn't mind what the man looks as long as they share common taste of food, because her philosophy is as human live the time most are for eating thus happiness come from having great time enjoying perfect match of food likeness.
Of course this drama story less or more reflected the social behaviour in developed country like Japan which singles number are increasing every year. In Sachiko case she want family, but her definition of love are too materialistic. Along the way finding her happiness, the movie want to teach us what love truly is.

Bara no nai hanaya
At first I was interested in this drama because its title, the flower shop which doesn't have roses. The answer are quickly revealed after Eiji explained the reason to Mio, Roses are indeed lovable but does it want to be loved, if so why does it have pricky stems. The reason indeed make sense to me, as I dwelve more into the story I know that this drama is not just a simple romantic theme.
Takeuchi Yuko acting as usual is exceptional, she plays Mio role which has double identity, as blind woman who Eiji loves, and other as a nurse who blackmailed by a doctor who possess skill to cure her father. The two role eventually will merge into one, as I wrote this the drama has not ended yet.
Overall this drama is pretty good, but the story sometime I felt very long and a little boring though. If you want comedy to make you laugh this isn't the right choice.

Ii Hito
The story is very simple, a person who faithfully with his principle, "My happiness is happiness of other people". He never blame other for his lateness to job interview even though along the way he helps so many people in need, he simply can't ignore when people asking him or seeing someone in need for help.
I really enjoyed the drama, one because it very funny seeing how luck after luck come to him eventhough we see at first he was at disadvantage. Seeing it also reminds me how we start ignoring doing good deed for people around us, we are busy with ourself and have no time for simple task like helping people. What wonderful in this drama is even though you don't get any return doing good deeds, luck will come to you in mysterious way.
As the translation is still in progress, you might interested in reading it's original comic while waiting.
